The United States oil consumption is used 70% for transportation. This is extremely wasteful and costs around $1 trillion. This is relevant to our class because drilling for oil can cause earthquakes or other disasters. Also, drilling for oil affects climate change.

America's dependence on oil is very high, we use alot if oil. If we could find new energy that has a less of a harmful impact on our lives, society, and planet....

This article is saying that the US is using an absurd amount of oil. It shows this by comparing the population of the US to China and the amount of oil each country uses. This relates to our module because it shows how population can effect the environment or not. I think its crazy that this is an 8 year old statistic but still relevant.

This article talks about how much the US relies on oil and how much it costs the country. The article relates to our modules because it shows population does not directly relate to oil demand, the US is just crazy about oil in contrast to another country such as China. It'd be interesting to see how the US economy would be like if the started moving more into renewable energy sources.

This article explains how dependent the United states is on oil. These statistics are stunning because they show how much oil the US consumes and one fact that was really interesting is that we consume more than China despite having a much smaller population. This relates to this weeks module because population plays a big role on the environment and geological events.
