SMCC Geology with Jeff Simpson

Home

When not teaching, Jeff works at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a technical writer in geophysics. In the past he has worked for the BLM at the Anasazi Heritage Center in Dolores, Colorado and for the National Park Service as an interpretive ranger at Kilauea (Volcanoes National Park) and Glen Canyon/Lake Powell and in Pago Pago, American Samoa and Athens, Greece. He enjoys unicycling, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, travel, acoustic guitar, gardening, creative writing, computing, and studying environmental issues focusing on alternative architecture. His next goal is to work with the Rocky Mountain Institute or the National Renewable Energy Lab. Jeff believes physical geology is both a process and a content and is taught best with a hands-on approach...and a sense of humor.
